Rodgers, Mark E.

Ph.D., is Dean and Professor at the Graduate School of Social Work at Dominican University. His scholarship interests include international social work, health and social welfare policy, community development and social work practice techniques. In 1998, Dr. Rodgers led the establishment of the first MSW program in America with an international concentration, including field internships in Latvia, Bangladesh, Singapore, Switzerland, Canada, and Ghana. In 2004, he completed a two-year project as the principal investigator of a Department of State Grant to develop the first MSW program in Latvia. While at Dominican University, Dr. Rodgers was awarded grants from the US Embassy in Latvia to develop a Human Trafficking Prevention training program for Latvian faculty, judges, prosecutors, state and municipal police officers, social workers and psychologists. In 2006, he received the Social Worker of the Year Award by The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Illinois Chapter in recognition of his international efforts in social work.
