Leta, Helane
Helane Leta is the Director of M.S.W. Field Education & International Social Work at the University of Utah College of Social Work, where she has been a faculty member since 1992.
Prof. Leta conducts study abroad programs in Eastern Europe (Czech Republic/Bulgaria) and Mexico; facilitates student field placements in Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa; teaches Perspectives in International Social Work and directs an International Social Work Emphasis.
She Co-Chairs the University of Utah College of Social Work International Social Work Committee and serves on the CSWE Council on Global Learning, Research and Practice and the University of Utah International Exchange Committee. Prof. Leta has presented at several national and international conferences including IASSW in 2004 & 2006 and AUDEM in 2005. She recently returned from a sabbatical abroad during which she continued her efforts to develop international collaborations and was the keynote speaker at Marian College School of Social Work Field Education Workshop in Kuttikkanam, India.
