Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of Washington. Her research focus seeks to understand the familial and environmental processes that influence and impact youth, particularly the impacts of migration. She is Principal Investigator on a longitudinal study examining the developmental trajectories of Cambodian and Vietnamese children. Her expertise related to Asian Pacific Islander populations has been utilized by a number of organizations. Since 2004, she has spearheaded a partnership with the Royal University of Phnom Penh to establish the first college level social work program in Cambodia.
